Every journey we make seems dangerous. Even a trip to the supermarket fells dangerous and risky. Travel in the Celtic world was dangerous as well. There were no police officers and, when you went out alone, you might not come back safely. Their prayers for safe travel are shot through with a gentle poetry and a trust in God.
May God make safe to you each steep.
May God make open to you each pass.
May God clear to you each road,
And may he take you in the clasp of His own two hands.
