Are the most expensive offices in the world doomed?

Blog | By James Fletcher | Jul 22, 2020

A raging debate in New York City concerns the billions of dollars worth of unoccupied office space. With many firms saying they will be vacant till September at the earliest, and in some cases, not before early 2021 - the question is: have we changed our work habits forever? Clearly many businesses can make a considerable saving, and have operated adequately despite lockdown. Others feel there is inherent value in face-to-face encounters and discussion while reporting homebased lack of energy and motivation. Clearly, this debate applies to all towns and cities, but is more pertinent in New York with some of the most expensive rents on God’s green earth.
