Food delivery in the time of COVID

Carbone, a stalwart on Thompson Street is one of the restaurants still open. The state governor has allowed take-away and delivery to remain open. Here you see bike couriers waiting patiently for their turn. Normally, it’s the other way round and they have no patience for a restaurant that isn’t ready on time. An excess of couriers, and restaurants operating with a skeleton crew, are doing their best in the face of enormous challenges for their industry when restrictions finally lift. Sadly, a great number are expected to fold.
