While Manhattan has yet to give the green light to inside dining, restaurants are keeping the wolf from the door with various innovations. Here in TriBeCa, Kaffe 1668 has assembled a flock of sheep to dissuade customers from parking themselves at a table. As with many other hostelries, they have created an extended outside seating situation. Owners are praying that diners will be allowed back inside before the weather turns. Their survival will depend on it.
