Do I pay grandchildren?
I’ve got four grandchildren of different ages and I’m always very generous to them on their birthdays. But two of them have left university now and are in full-time work (the other two are still at school). I feel it would be unfair to stop giving the working two birthday money. But it does seem silly when they probably have more money than I do! Name and address supplied
Be adaptable. After they’re 18, or 21, or whenever you like, continue to give the younger two generous gifts, and take the older two out for birthday dinners each year. If you still feel guilty, you can explain the situation to them. They will surely understand.
